[Mephistophelia Chronicle] A Gloious Day for Space Exploration
The Ministry of Space Exploration launches the Daebaektusan-1 Space Station
Today, a feat of extraordinary scientific wonder was unveiled over the Earth, the Daebaektusan-1 Space Station.
"This is wonderful, this day will be marked forever in Mephistophelian history as a day of achievement and much celebration. We invite all our allied nations, through embassy, the OASEAN, and the CIS to partake in space exploration via our new space station. Together, we will build even stronger ties and further knowledge to the world of the once unseen," exclaims Li Xinhong, Ministry Spokesman.
The Daebaektusan-1 Space Station was built with the help of researchers, scientists, and construction workers transported from our Taepodong-6 rocket, a year ago. The team of experts from the Ministry have since been working with the monthly deliveries of iron, steel, copper, reinforced glass, and other finished goods from the Taepodong-5 cargo rocket. Within six months of work, the Space Station's exteriors and foundations have been laid out. Four months afterwards, the interior have since been finished. Hovering between the Earth and the Moon, where the old International Space Station once stood before the US Space Program was forced to close due to budgetary problems.
Our Space Station has no offensive capabilities other than defensive lasers against unfriendly ships with a maximum reach of 100 miles. The only other defensive capabilities are cloaking technology. The Space Station is powered by large solar panels throughout as well as backup mini-nuclear fission generators. The holding capacity for the Station is at a max of 10,000 people and as it is mostly automatic, only ten people are required to man the vessel.
The Station has a cantina and cafeteria, a recreational room with billiards, a ping-pong table and some board games; there is a prayer room for those adhering to a certain faith, a holographic training simulator, a farm for our new collection of space-tested vegetables and fruits, a laboratory/medical bay, a photographic surveillance room (with technicians from Dijen), a gym, and two floors of dormitories, we have plans to include a swimming pool, a karaoke room, a communications room (for Skype conversations between researchers and their Space Agencies on the ground as well as for personal usage between families). There are still a lot of spaces being developed within the Space Station, but we are looking forward to other ideas from our allied nations.
"The greatest development because of our Space Station is the Secondary Space Launch Infinity Loop (SSLIP). Inspired by the ingenuity and imagination of the Star Wars series. When space ships leave the Station, they will connect with the Secondary Space Launch Inifinity Loop, a literal circular metallic frame around your ship. The technologies behind it is astronomical. The circular frame (or the loop) harnasses the power of the sun and light itself, supercharging your vessel with almost limit-less energy at the atomic level. Ships will be able to surpass the speed of light (186,000 miles per second). The loop ha special properties which protect your ship with the very energy powering it, creating an invisible opposite-charged bubble while you make the jump to hyperspace. In two and a half minutes, ships could travel to Mars from the Station. In four hours and twenty minutes, ships could travel to Pluto. We hope in the future, other nations will build further Space Stations in deep space as so to expand our travel capabilities outside of the Milky Way, to explore new worlds and find potential worlds to colonize or even alien species to observe. Think of the wonders of the universe we may discover," says Mizusho Kanta, the creator of the SSLIP Project from the Mephistophelian Ministry of Space Exploration.
With Kazakhstan under recent Mephistophelian control, we will be able to launch more Taepodong rockets bound for the Daebaektusan-1 Space Station from the old Soviet launch platforms. Mephistophelia has already allocated $6 billion into the original project while borrowing an additional $2 billion from multiple international organizations on other unexpected expenses as the project moved along. "It was worth every penny", laughed Kim Daeseong, Supreme Leader of Mephistophelia.
Daebaektusan-1 is expected to finalize interior space issues by the end of the month, and will open to allied nations around the same time. A representative from each interested nation would be part of the Central Command. "We look forward to the bright future ahead of us," remarked Barkhan Tumegluun, Chairman of the Central Command.
