Commemorating 216 years of M1891/30 Mosin-Nagant in Greiffjord's Military Services.
It has been noted that M1891/30 Mosin-Nagant, or its Greiffjording local variants, GWM-91, has been in the service of Greiffjord military for more than 200 years now, and though no longer being a standard issue rifle of Greiffjord Armed Forces, for that we have G3A3 rifle, Mosin Nagant still valued themselves as a secondary service rifle currently in Greiffjord's Military Service, in the form of ceremonial rifle, cadet rifle, and currently still in active use by 1st and 2nd Inuitian Infantry Division.
The Mosin Nagant was selected to be Greiffjord's service rifle at the year 1900, following the replacement of their standard Steyr-Kropatschek rifle, which deemed lacked to satisfy Greiffjord's need. Mosin Nagant beat its rival, Mauser 98, and ended the German-made dominance as Greiffjord's service rifle. This marks the shift in Greiffjord's foreign diplomacy, to end hundreds of years being inside German's sphere of influence. The initial procurement planning is buying about 300,000 - 500,000 rifles from the Czardom of Russia in 10 years terms to replace all Kropatschek rifle currently in Greiffjord's inventory. However, the brewing of World War I and unstable political condition means only about 105,900 rifles are able to reach Greiffjord's safely. This prompted the major arms industry, Greiffjord Waffen und Munitie (GWM) to re-engineered some of the rifle and made their own version, the GWM-91 Greiffjord's Mosin Nagant. This locally produced Mosin Nagant, along with original Russian-made Mosin Nagant then distributed among GAF's Divisions, as their new service rifles, which will then be favoured by everyone, especially Inuitian Greiffjording.
Today, the rights to produce and repair Mosin Nagant are under Greenland Armories, which made at least 100 Mosin Nagant rifles each years to be sold to Inuitian people as their hunting rifle. This helps shape the legacy of Mosin Nagant to be Greiffjord's legendary rifle.
