Brief history of your nation: established in 1919 during the German civil war, the Bavarian people's republic has survived countless attempts of invasion, first by Hitler's Germany, and then by the victorious allied powers. It came into the 21st century as one of the few successful Marxist states. It has started to take a larger role in the euopean stage, and is looking to start exporting the revolution to its neighbors.

Notes: Basically Marxist Bavaria is like North Korea, just fully industrialized and internationally accepted, while Germany is like South Korea. They both have cold relations but have learned to live with each other.
